This unabridged novel is a period, mystery/adventure set in 1949. There are fifty chapters and sixty five thousand words in a fast paced, easy style, liberally laced with sex, violence, nostalgia and a whole lot of fun. It’s a satire of the period, set up in time frames and given credence by the suggestion of documentary reality. This story begins where “THREE FOR THE MONEY” leaves off. Our three millionaires, Anthony James, Steve Hughs and Tommy Sanderson, take on a forth partner. Cal Peters flew in the same R.A.F. squadron with Tony during the war.
Tony is confronted by boredom while flying to L. A., everything’s too easy. Cal welcomes them with a spectacular C46-A and a gorgeous female flight crew. A shakedown cruise to sunny Acapulco, then on to Las Vegas. Tommy is jailed for casino mayhem after being cheated at blackjack. They decide to get back at the mob by opening their own casino/hotel. Enter the F.B.I. Our heros have a choice, they can forget their plans or become involved with the F.B.I. in a huge counterfeit scam.
Brother Joe is kidnapped by the big man and his bizarre rescue uncovers another facet to the plot, The President is to be assassinated. .. Is it another of our country’s enemies or a very powerful megalomaniac?.. And why?
Tony meets the beautiful Katrina Nordstrom at a Hollywood premier party. They play games together. There follows a gruesome murder of an old friend and a clue to the scam, written in blood. Tony tries a plan and Katrina is kidnapped by the big man. There’s a dual in the desert, capture and finally, escape and satisfaction. The convoluted conclusion has many unexpected twists.
